OUR ORIGINS
Phyto Pro was born of our search for a clean, healing protein to use with clients in our integrated medicine practice in Cape Town, South Africa.
We asked our clients to leave animal food products behind because of the antibiotic, heavy metal and hormonal contaminants contained in meat and whey, and step away from rice and soy protein because of the anti-nutrients, digestion-inhibitors and xenoestrogens contained therein. But this left a huge protein gap β protein is necessary for both growth and healing.
In stepped Pea Protein Isolate
Pea Protein Isolate ticked all the right boxes β cost-effective, alkalising and non-inflammatory, versatile, non-GMO, grown in an environmentally-friendly manner and processed only with water:
- NO CHEMICAL
- NO BLEACHING
- NO HEAVY METALS
MORE INFO
As we age, maintaining muscle mass becomes increasingly important. It's not just about looking good or being strong β itβs about preserving mobility and overall health. πͺ Muscle acts as a reserve of resilience, helping us recover from illness, injury, and the natural challenges of aging. Without sufficient muscle stores, recovery can be slow and often leads to a steep decline in quality of life.
Dr. Casey Means, a leading expert in metabolic health, emphasizes that muscle is one of the most powerful predictors of longevity. She highlights key strategies to maintain and build muscle:
β Spread protein intake throughout the day β Muscle protein synthesis requires a steady supply of amino acids, so aim to include a source of high-quality protein with every meal.
β Prioritize strength training β Lifting weights ποΈ or using resistance exercises not only preserves muscle but also improves insulin sensitivity and supports a healthy metabolism.
β Choose nutrient-dense foods β Focus on whole foods π₯©π₯π₯¦ rich in protein, vitamins, and healthy fats, such as grass-fed meats, wild-caught fish, leafy greens, and pasture-raised eggs. These provide essential nutrients that support both muscle function and metabolic health.
β Get quality sleep β Sleep π΄ is when the body repairs and rebuilds muscle. Poor sleep disrupts recovery, slows metabolism, and increases the risk of muscle loss over time.
Of course getting what you need from food is the best. And for those moments when life gets hectic, π₯€ protein shakes provide a quick, easy way to hit your daily protein needs without compromising on quality.
